Grabavoy up for MLS Goal of the Week

Goal of the Week - Week 7

SANDY, Utah – Real Salt Lake midfielder Ned Grabavoy is up for MLS Goal of the Week!

Grabavoy is nominated for his game-winning goal in RSL’s 1-0 win over Portland Timbers on Saturday. Midfielder Sebastian Velasquez started the play, cutting inside from his position on the right wing and finding Grabavoy with a square ball in the middle of Portland’s third. Grabavoy took it from there, dribbling into the area before firing a low left-footer inside the far post from 15 yards.

Saturday's goal was Grabavoy's first of the 2014 season. The dynamic midfielder was nominated for a Goal of the Week in 2013 but has yet to take home the award. The Claret-and-Cobalt has one Goal of the Week win this year, with Beckerman winning the honor in Week 2 for an incredible left-footed strike against San Jose.

The RSL veteran is up against Seattle's Obafemi Martins, LA Galaxy's Stefan Ishizaki, Vancouver's Kekuta Manneh and Columbus' Hector Jimenez for the honor.

Voting for Goal of the Week runs until 12:59 a.m. MT on Friday. Click here to vote for Grabavoy!
