Lukas Engel

Engel, The Danish fullback joins Real Salt Lake ahead of the 2026 season after spending the previous campaign with FC Cincinnati, where he recorded six assists across all competitions in 2025. Engel began his professional career in Denmark, developing through the system at Vejle Boldklub before earning a move to Silkeborg IF, where his performances in the Danish Superliga established him as an energetic, attack-minded outside back. His success in Denmark led to a move abroad to England with Middlesbrough FC, adding experience in a highly competitive environment and further refining his defensive awareness and physical play. Known for his pace, high work rate, and ability to stretch the field, Engel contributes consistent width in attack while remaining disciplined defensively. A former Danish youth international, Engel arrived in Utah entering his prime years, bringing a blend of European development and MLS experience to RSL’s back line.
