What They're Saying: Real Salt Lake Signs Albert Rusnák

Real Salt Lake announced the signing of attacking midfielder Albert Rusnák on Friday and around the world of Major League Soccer (and beyond) the reaction was plentiful.  Here is a look at some of the reports.

In the Salt Lake Tribune, Chris Kamrani talked about the high demands of playing a No. 10 in MLS, with Real Salt Lake and following the 10-year run of Javier Morales in the same role.

"I'm not putting extra pressure on myself," Rusnák said in the story, here. "I know what's expected. I know I have to deliver, and that will be up to me to do on the field."

At MLSsoccer.com, Greg Seltzer spoke with former Cambuur Technical Director Alex Pama about Rusnák, who played on loan to the Dutch side in 2014.

"[Albert is a] very technical player, he can be a game-changer.  He's a very good pickup for MLS,” Pama said in the story, here.  "He sees solutions fast.  He can score as a midfielder, but is also a smart player that can set teammates up."

In the Deseret News, Aaron Morton wrote about how Rusnák fits in the 4-3-3 and RSL’s youth movement.

"This is a big day for our organization," RSL head coach Jeff Cassar said in the story, here. "I can't tell you how excited I am for this year. He's young, he's energetic, but he has an unbelievable amount of experience, it's going to bleed into what our team is going to be all about this year."

At RSL Soapbox, Matt Montgomery explains why fans should be excited here.

“You should be excited about this because Albert Rusnak is a young player who’s attracted attention across the European continent. He’s not exactly a world-beater at this point in his career, but there are very few conditions under which Real Salt Lake could fend off the many interested parties for that sort of player. But really, Rusnak’s arrival portends good things for RSL. If they can build around signings like this, it helps elevate the state of their game. Maybe Rusnak isn’t fully developed — no midfielder is at 22 — but he’s extremely talented.”
