HERRIMAN, Utah (Friday, February 25, 2022) – Real Monarchs have signed midfielder Pierre Reedy to an MLS NEXT Pro professional contract ahead of the inaugural MLS NEXT Pro season, pending league approval

“The Club is thrilled to announce the signing of Pierre to the Real Monarchs. Pierre came into the preseason with Real Salt Lake and continually impressed our technical staff. His approach to his craft, his character there within and desire to succeed is a model for players of all ages within our organization. We look forward to watching his continued development with the Monarchs,” Real Salt Lake Assistant General Manager Tony Beltran said.

Reedy, 24, signs with Real Monarchs after impressing as a trialist during Real Salt Lake’s preseason over the past two months. The midfielder started for RSL in its preseason match against Minnesota United, while also earning playing time against Viking FK and Portland Timbers as a substitute.

As a five-year product out of Penn State, Reedy tallied six goals and 10 assists in 48 appearances, having sat out the 2017 and 2018 seasons due to injury. Additionally, during his college years he competed with Reading United in USL League Two, making it all the way to the 2018 Championship Final.

Real Monarchs are set to compete in MLS NEXT Pro for the 2022 season, the schedule for which will be released at a later date. This move comes after seven seasons in the USL Championship, during which the team won the 2019 USL Championship Cup, the 2017 USL Regular Season Shield and the Western Conference Title in both 2017 and 2019, while also qualifying for the postseason in 2018.
