Real Monarchs

Welcome Back, Bobby

HERRIMAN, Utah (Thursday, February 3, 2022) – Former Real Salt Lake Academy defender KurowskybobBobby” Pierre is set to return to Utah, signing an MLS NEXT Pro professional contact with Real Monarchs ahead of the inaugural MLS NEXT Pro season, pending league approval.

“Real Monarchs would like to welcome former academy player Bobby Pierre back to our Club. Bobby is a powerful athlete and competitor, with a solid defensive foundation. We look forward to Bobby’s continued defensive progression under the guidance of our staff,” Real Salt Lake Assistant General Manager Tony Beltran said.

Pierre, 19, has most recently spent the last few years in Europe playing for Racing Club de Strasbourg Alsace in France as part of its second team and U19 squad.

Prior to making the move to Europe, Pierre played with the RSL Academy where he appeared at every level in the Club’s youth system. On September 21, 2019, Pierre made his professional debut and simultaneously earned his first professional start with Real Monarchs against Rio Grande Valley FC in the USL Championship.

As a dual International, Pierre has appeared at the youth level for both Haiti and the United States. Pierre has spent the majority of his international career with Haiti, playing for them in both the 2019 CONCACAF U17 Championship where it fell in the semifinal, and the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup. However, in January of 2020 he gained the attention of the United States and was named to the U20 United States Men’s National team alongside Real Salt Lake goalkeeper David Ochoa.

Real Monarchs are set to compete in MLS NEXT Pro for the 2022 season, the schedule for which will be released at a later date. This move comes after seven seasons in the USL Championship, during which the team won the 2019 USL Championship Cup, the 2017 USL Regular Season Shield and the Western Conference Title in both 2017 and 2019, while also qualifying for the postseason in 2018.
