Utah Royals FC Return to Rio Tinto Stadium to Face OL Reign

SANDY, Utah (Friday, September 26, 2020) – Utah Royals FC (0-1-0, 0 points) return to Rio Tinto Stadium for the first time in nearly a year to take on OL Reign in the second match of the NWSL Fall Series. The match is scheduled for Saturday, September 26 at 1:30 p.m. MT and can be streamed on CBS All-Access. The match will also be played in front of fans for the first time in the 2020 season.

Utah opened its 2020 Fall Series last Sunday with a 3-0 loss to Portland Thorns FC at Providence Park in Portland, Oregon.  Amy Rodriguez saw the team’s best chance at goal in the first half when she chipped the goalkeeper and missed the net by mere inches.
Saturday will mark the second time Utah has faced OL Reign in 2020, having played to a 1-0 loss during the NWSL Challenge Cup in July. When facing OL Reign, URFC has a 1-5-1 record.

URFC sees 19 players from its 2020 Challenge Cup roster return to the club for the Fall Series, led by team captain and 2019 team-golden boot winner Amy Rodriguez. They are joined by Michele Vasconcelos who recently joined Utah from Chicago Red Stars. 

URFC will be without Kelley O’Hara, Desiree Scott and Diana Matheson who choose to opt out of the tournament, as well as Rachel Corsie and Gunny Jonsdottir who are in Europe on loan.
