UTAH ROYALS FC ACQUIRES FIRST ROUND DRAFT PICK IN 2020 NWSL COLLEGE DRAFT
URFC Receives Club’s First-Ever First Round Draft Pick
SANDY, Utah (Tuesday, January, 14 2019) – Utah Royals FC received the No. 8 overall pick in the 2020 National Women’s Soccer League College Draft from the Chicago Red Stars in exchange for allocation money. Per league policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
"With this pick in the first round we are able to select a player who can bring a more immediate impact to the squad this season, as well as to the team for many years to come,” General Manager Stephanie Lee said.
With the acquisition, Utah now holds the Nos. 8, 12 and 31 picks. The draft will take place on Thursday, January 16 at 9:00 a.m. MT in Baltimore, Maryland.
