The Real Salt Lake Academy U-15 side is set to continue its MLS NEXT Cup title defense against Eastern Conference foe Chicago Fire on Tuesday, June 27 at 8:00 a.m. MT for the Quarterfinals in Frisco, Texas. RSL clinched its Quarterfinal berth after a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Philadelphia Union. Super-sub Tony Ramirez and captain Luis Rivera netted goals just a minute apart in the final stages of the match to overcome the one goal deficit.
Chicago Fire punched its ticket to the next round after defeating Breakers FC 2-0 in the round of 16. Chicago qualified for MLS NEXT Cup by finishing first in the Central (North) division with 23 points and a 7-1-2 regular-season record. Additionally, the Eastern Conference side is one of two teams left in the tournament who has yet to concede a goal, the other being Austin FC.
The winner of the match will move onto the Semifinals where they will face either Sacramento Republic FC or New York Red Bulls on Thursday, June 30 at 6:00 p.m. MT
