Season Ticket Member Starting XI: April 30, 2022

Real Salt Lake's match against the Los Angeles Galaxy on April 30th celebrated the fourth Season Ticket Member Starting XI. The Starting XI is made up of season ticket holders who have been around since the very beginning. These loyal season ticket holders were recognized on the field postgame where they received a team signed RSL kit and a picture on the bench. Thank you to all of our season ticket holders for their dedication to the Club.

Michael Ziouras: Section 19 row M seats 13-14.

What has been your favorite kit over the years?

"The 2010 (and 2011) home kit. The symmetrical cobalt sleeves tied to a uniquely-colored claret front, has been the sharpest kit introduced by our club. Clean lines coupled with yellow piping running across and down brought traditional flair into the RioT. (Although the 2022 home kit is growing on me enough to make the rotation on most match days)."

Douglas Hurren: Section 24 Row P seats 16-18.

Who is your all time favorite player and why?

"Fabian Espindola (the angry Argentine), because he played with such heart."

Donald Miller: Section 28 row H seats 24-25.

What is your favorite memory from being a season ticket holder?

"I think my most recent, and favorite memory was from last year when Rubio Rubin executed a perfect bicycle kick for a goal. He dropped the ball off of his chest, and then scored a perfect goal, and it won Goal of the Year, amazing! There are so many memories though: close second was when Anderson Julio kicked the ball high and behind himself last year, and then drilled a goal against the Galaxy."

Kevin & Christie Lash: Section 1 row G seats 21-22 and Section F row F seats 19-24.

What made you purchase RSL season tickets?

"Because it's soccer and our very own team!"

Kevin Smith: Section 1 row N seats 1-3.

What’s your favorite part about being a season ticket holder?

"I attend all RSL home games with my wife, who is also a season ticket member and soccer enthusiast. Our favorite memories are of the RSL games we attended with our younger son, who played soccer from U-littles to the Olympic Development Program (ODP) and college. Our memories together are special because our son continued to attend a few games with us when he could obtain leave from the U.S. Army. When he is not with us physically at the games, we feel the emotional connections to our memories of him being with us."

Jeremy Johnson: Section 4 row F seats 20-21.

You’ve been a season ticket holder since 2010, do you have a particular year that has been your favorite?

"Easy choice is 2009 when we won the Cup and I was able to attend the match in Seattle. However, the 2013 season stands out to me because of the US Open Cup success and the success during the regular season. Even though we were runner ups in both, I had a blast watching with friends, and also being able to attend both championships matches was a great cherry on top (almost froze in KC and haven’t been back since)."

Derek Shell: Section 4 row C seats 5-8.

If you could pick any three RSL players to have dinner with, which ones would you pick and why?

"Three players: Dami - The inspiration, consistency, leadership, the Captain, need I say more? Justen - Understands what it means to be a product of the RSL system, developing as a youth player from USL to MLS. Wood - Knowing his experiences and what it means to him. To see him rise to the top level of football and be a USMNT regular, to struggle and then now find recent form that could potentially lead to a great season.

Tyler Loveland: Section 12 row A seats 11-14.

What is your favorite season so far?

"My favorite season was probably 2010. Rio Tinto was a fortress. We didn't lose a home game the entire season, with only a few ties. You came to the games expecting to walk out with a win. Our goal differential was crazy and we were able to advance far in the playoffs as well as in CONCACAF Champions League. However, my favorite RSL moment was driving to Seattle and watching them beat the Galaxy and raise the MLS Cup! Go RSL!"`

Shelley Christensen: Section 24 row P seats 1-4

Which RSL player (of all time) has the best goal celebration?

"We were able to attend the game in 2009 in Seattle when we won the MLS championship. The best goal celebration would be that PK from Russell, he fell to his knees, his fists clenched in satisfaction. It was awesome to be part of that. His teammates swarmed him. We weren't supposed to win but we did! Amazing experience to be there."
