HERRIMAN, Utah (Thursday, June 12, 2025) - In the ongoing / most recent FIFA International window, Real Salt Lake boasts four players called into international duty, with four teams from three countries being represented. Starlet Diego Luna received another call from U.S. Men’s National Team Head Coach Mauricio Pochettino for friendlies against Turkey and Switzerland, as the U.S. continues preparations for the 2025 Gold Cup, which kicks off Sunday against Trinidad & Tobago. Fellow American Zavier Gozo joined the U-20 squad for a training camp in Egypt, featuring matches against Norway U-20 and Colombia U-20, as part of the leadup to the FIFA U-20 World Cup, set to take place in Chile this September. Striker Ari Piol was called in to represent the Australian U-23 team in two away matches against South Korea, while Polish winger Dominik Marczuk earned a call to his nation’s U-21 squad for the June FIFA international window, with Poland set to travel to Slovakia to compete in the UEFA Under-21 Championship.

Luna was named to the U.S. Men’s National Team roster for this summer’s 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup, his first tournament call-up. In preparation for the tournament, the U.S. faced Turkey on June 7, followed by a final tune-up match against Switzerland. Luna started the first match, playing 65 minutes in the 2-1 loss to Turkey. In the second match, the California native entered at halftime and provided a spark in an otherwise difficult 4-0 loss to Switzerland. Despite the results, Luna stood out as a bright spot for a struggling U.S. side. The team now turns its focus to the group stage of the Gold Cup, beginning with a match against Trinidad and Tobago on Sunday, followed by a June 19 fixture against guest invitee Saudi Arabia. The U.S. will close out the group stage with a match against Haiti on Sunday, June 22.

The surging Zavier Gozo joined the U.S. Under-20 Men’s National Team, led by head coach Marko Mitrović, as part of a 22-player squad that traveled to Cairo, Egypt for friendlies against Norway and Colombia’s U-20 sides. The team opened camp with a 1-0 loss to Norway on June 6. Just four days later, the U.S. bounced back with a 1-0 win over Colombia to close out the camp on a positive note. Players born on or after January 1, 2005, are age-eligible for this year’s FIFA U-20 World Cup, and the 2007-born Gozo will look to continue solidifying a place in Mitrović’s plans ahead of the tournament.

Ari Piol received a callup from Australian U-23 Head Coach Tony Vidmar for a pair of away friendlies against South Korea’s U-23 squad. Piol was one of two MLS players selected for the camp, joining Vancouver Whitecaps’ Giuseppe Bovalina. The Australians remained unbeaten across both matches, drawing 0-0 on June 5 before securing a 2-0 victory on June 9.

Dominik Marczuk received the call to represent his native Poland in the UEFA European Under-21 Championship. Poland opened group play on June 11 with a tough 2-1 loss to Georgia, conceding a heartbreaking game-winning goal in the fourth minute of stoppage time. Marczuk went the full 90 on opening day, with a first-half yellow card. Despite the loss, Poland remains in contention for a spot in the knockout rounds, with two matches remaining. The team will next face Portugal on Saturday, June 14, followed by a group stage finale against France on Tuesday, June 17. Marczuk will aim to be a key figure as Poland looks to rebound and secure advancement to the next phase of the competition.

Piol and Gozo have since rejoined Head Coach Pablo Mastroeni’s squad ahead of this Saturday’s clash against D.C. United, where the Club will honor RSL and MLS legend—and 2025 Hall of Fame inductee—Nick Rimando. Luna and Marczuk remain on international duty throughout June as they continue competing in their respective nations' tournaments. Tickets for Saturday's showdown against D.C. United at America First Field are available here.
