HERRIMAN, Utah (Friday, Jan 9, 2025) - The Real Salt Lake Academy quartet comprised of DF Camron Estala, GK Will Makay, MF Reignen Magsino and MF Axel Uriostegui now report to their respective federations during the upcoming International Window.
Hosting USA U18, U19 and U20 Men’s National Team Domestic Training Camps in Mesa, Ariz., the Stars-and-Stripes have called upon Estala, Mackay and Uriostegui to participate with the U18 squad. The week-long camp will feature 16-player rosters for each of the three age divisions, with trainings held across the groups with an increased focus on individual development.Â
Newly-acquired Real Salt Lake striker and RSL Academy U19 eligible striker Chance Cowell was also called to participate with the USYNT U18 squad, but jointly decided in conjunction with the federation to remain in Salt Lake to integrate with his new professional Club setup.
Estala and Uriostegui have been mainstays with the RSL Academy U18 squad throughout the 2025-26 MLS NEXT campaign, playing a large part in both of the Claret-and-Cobalt’s international podium finishes, placing third in the LIGA MX-hosted Torneo Internacional and the Korean first division-hosted K-League International.
Mackay spent the majority of 2025 with Real Monarchs, logging 13 MLS NEXT Pro appearances, including the Monarchs’ MLSNP playoff debut, a 2-1 loss to Minnesota United FC 2 last October.
Magsino is in the midst of his three-day camp with the Puerto Rican U17 national team, returning to the Wasatch Front this weekend. El Huracán Azul prepare for the 2026 U17 World Cup Qualifiers next month in Costa Rica, occurring from Feb. 3-12.
The crafty midfielder played a significant role last year in the Real Salt Lake Academy’s historic “Double” title feat, becoming the first MLS NEXT squad to win both Generation adidas Cup and MLS NEXT Cup in the same season.
Real Salt Lake Academy is the official MLS NEXT affiliate of MLS side Real Salt Lake. Leading Major League Soccer in homegrown signees, RSL now welcomes Griffin Dillon, Diego Rocio and Antonio Riquelme to its 2026 class. The trio of RSL Academy products now brings the number of homegrown signings to an MLS-high of 48, after each inked their deals with the Claret-and-Cobalt.
