RSL Academy Defender Linkon Ream Called-Up to USYNT

HERRIMAN, Utah (Monday, Mar 23, 2026) - Real Salt Lake Academy DF Linkon Ream has been called up to the U17 United States Youth National Team. Reporting to Head Coach Alex Aldaz today, Ream will participate in a week-long international Training Camp in Asuncion, Paraguay headlined by a friendly against the hosts on Mar 28.

The announcement comes one day after Ream made his professional debut with Real Monarchs in a 3-2 win over Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2. The Utah native subbed on for RSL homegrown Gio Villa in the 67th minute to help preserve the Claret-and-Cobalt’s lead in route to three points.

Ream, a big part of the RSL Academy U16 defensive line in its historic “Double” feat will head to Dallas with the RSL Academy U18 squad after camp to compete in the 2026 Dallas Cup. RSL is slated to compete in Group A facing Liga MX side Deportivo Toluca F.C., before facing Premier League squad Aston Villa FC and concluding with Série A representative SAF Botafogo. 

Real Salt Lake Academy is the official MLS NEXT affiliate of MLS side Real Salt Lake. Leading Major League Soccer in homegrown signees, RSL now welcomes Griffin Dillon, Van Parker, Diego Rocio and Antonio Riquelme to its 2026 class. The quartet of RSL Academy products now brings the number of homegrown signings to an MLS-high (49), after each inked their deals with the Claret-and-Cobalt.
