SANDY, Utah - Real Salt Lake goalkeeper Nick Rimando has done it again, winning his eighth Save of the Week award of the season for his magnificent double save in last Saturday's scoreless draw at the Portland Timbers.
Rimando won Save of the Week for an incredible double save in stoppage time of last Saturday's tie at JELD-WEN Field. The veteran 'keeper parried away a blistering free kick from former RSL man Will Johnson, then quickly recuperated to swat Sal Zizzo's follow-up header out of danger.
Rimando took nearly 45 percent of the vote to win the award, beating out LA's Jaime Penedo, Toronto's Stefan Frei, Chicago's Sean Johnson and San Jose's Jon Busch to take home the honors. The win is Rimando's eighth Save of the Week win of the season - second in the league behind Portland's Donovan Ricketts - and the 12th win for RSL this year.
