SANDY, Utah - Real Salt Lake goalkeeper Nick Rimando has won MLS Save of the Week!
Rimando was honored for his stunning kick save on Chivas USA forward Jose Correa in the second half of RSL's 4-1 win at the Southern California club on Sunday. The veteran 'keeper took home 54.19 percent of the vote to beat out New York's Luis Robles, Colorado's Clint Irwin, Philadelphia's Zac MacMath and Dallas defender London Woodberry to win the award.
This is Rimando's second MLS Save of the Week of 2013 and the third for RSL, which had defender Nat Borchers win Save of the Week in Week 4.
RSL and Rimando will be back in action on Saturday, when they'll take on the Chicago Fire at 7:00 p.m. MT at Rio Tinto Stadium. Tickets are still available for the match and can be purchased online, at the Rio Tinto Stadium box office or over the phone at 801-727-2700.
