Rimando up for Save of the Week

Save of the Week

SANDY, Utah - Less than seven days after winning MLS Save of the Week, Real Salt Lake goalkeeper Nick Rimando is again nominated for the weekly award.

Rimando - who won Save of the Week for Week 14 for his diving stop on Marvin Chavez in RSL's 3-0 win over San Jose on June 1 - is nominated for his acrobatic stop on LA forward Jose Villarreal in the 37th minute of the Claret-and-Cobalt's 3-1 win over the Galaxy last Saturday. The veteran 'keeper - who is currently in Seattle with the U.S. national team ahead of Tuesday's World Cup Qualifier against Panama - is up against Chicago's Sean Johnson, Portland's Milos Kocic, D.C.'s Bill Hamid and Seattle's Michael Gspurning.

Rimando has won Save of the Week three times this year. RSL has picked up the honor four times, with defender Nat Borchers winning the award in Week 4.

Voting for Save of the Week runs until 12:59 a.m. MT on Friday morning. Click here to vote for Nick!
