HERRIMAN, Utah (Fri., Feb. 16, 2024) – Real Salt Lake today announced today that the team has loaned Homegrown DF Delentz Pierre to the USL Championship Colorado Springs Switchbacks for the 2024 season. The 23-year-old returns back to Colorado Springs once again this season, after joining the Switchbacks near the end of the 2023 season, making six appearances.

For the majority of 2023, Pierre played with Real Monarchs in MLS NEXT Pro action, recording one goal in 1,211 minutes. Delentz – a native for Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and a former Univ. of Portland standout who signed his MLS Homegrown deal in January, 2023 – also made a pair of appearances for RSL in last season’s Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, helping the side claim victories against the USL Championship’s Las Vegas Lights FC and MLS’s Portland Timbers FC.
At the University of Portland, Pierre – whose brother, Kurowskybob, also has seen action in recent years with the Monarchs – made 48 appearances and recorded four goals and two assists across three seasons with the Pilots. Before his college career, Delentz competed for the Monarchs as an Academy signing in the 2019 USL Championship season, making four appearances for the side before departing for college that fall.
Pierre has also previously competed at the youth national team level for Haiti. In 2018, while part of the RSL Academy, he competed for the island country at the CONCACAF U-20 Championship, making a pair of starts as the side narrowly missed out on progressing to the final stage of the tournament.
