HERRIMAN, Utah (Friday, August 21, 2026) - Real Salt Lake has acquired 19-year-old Orlando City midfielder Colin Guske via loan for the remainder of the 2026 Major League Soccer season, in exchange for $50,000 of 2026 General Allocation Money (GAM). The transaction includes a Permanent trade option, should the Claret-and-Cobalt decide to acquire the U.S. Youth National Team U-20 midfielder prior to Dec 31, 2026.
Guske (GUHS-kee), born on 29 January, 2007, arrives to the Utah side with 16 first-team appearances and four starts under his belt - including a 90-minute shift in Orlando’s 2-2 Leagues Cup draw with Atletico San Luis (Liga MX) last Wednesday - while making his first-team debut on April 5, 2025, for Orlando against the Philadelphia Union. The OCSC homegrown also boasts 45 matches in MLS NEXT Pro action during his professional career, logging 3,648 minutes en route to one goal and four assists.
In 2024, Guske played the most minutes of any 2007 birth-year MLS NEXT Pro player, and was also selected as a 2024 MLS NEXT All-Star.
“I’m really excited for this opportunity with RSL,” Guske expressed as he flew to Salt Lake City midweek. “I’ve always seen this club with passionate supporters, a team with a strong identity, clearly focused on growth and development, while finding ways to win.
“I’m looking forward to learning under Coach Pablo, who played at a high level, bringing a lot of experience and knowledge to the game. I’m grateful to be here and ready to get to work.”
Internationally, Guske has matriculated through the USYNT ranks, most recently appearing for the USYNT U19 squad in the CONCACAF U-20 Championship. In the first match of the tournament against Haiti, Guske provided an assist to Dino Klapija, en route to the United States’ 3-0 win. The USA topped Group A with 9 points, qualifying for the knockout stages and making its way to the final, where it fell, 2-0, to Mexico. Despite falling short in the final, the USYNT qualified for the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Azerbaijan / Uzbekistan.
