Former RSL Academy Midfielder Returns to Utah After Eight-Year Professional Career in Europe;

2026 Loan Agreement with Netherlands Side FC Twente Effective Immediately

HERRIMAN, Utah (Wed., September 2, 2026) — Real Salt Lake announced today it has acquired 25-year-old MF Taylor Booth via loan for the remainder of the 2026 Major League Soccer season from Dutch Eredivisie side FC Twente, with the agreement extending to the MLS 2027 Sprint Season and an option to purchase. Utah native Booth – a former member of the RSL Academy, calling Herriman home during the 2017/18 season – now returns stateside after eight-plus years in Europe, appearing in 23 games for Bayern Munich’s youth setup from 2018-20 prior to 125 professional appearances in Germany, Austria and the Netherlands with Bayern Munich, St. Polten and FC Twente since August, 2021.

"From his early days in our Academy to playing in top European leagues and representing the USMNT, he’s established a remarkable track record. His tactical flexibility and dynamic attacking play bring immediate depth and quality as we push through the home stretch."

The former U.S. Men’s National Team pool player is the older brother of current RSL attacker Zach Booth, the pair of Eden, Utah natives featuring for both the U.S. Under-17 and Under-19 men’s national teams in the past, with Taylor accruing 23 youth national team appearances and earning two USMNT senior caps during the 2022/23 CONCACAF Nations League.

“Hard to believe its been almost 10 years since I moved away from home,” said Booth, who will be eligible to appear for RSL at home Saturday night in the Club’s 16^th consecutive sellout against LAFC at America First Field in Sandy.

“I always knew that someday I would come back home to play for this Club. And while I didn’t know exactly when – now feels like the right moment, both from my side and from RSL’s side as well.

“Speaking with my brother about the Club and hearing so many great things about his experience in the last eight months, it made my decision very easy,” continued Booth, born on May 31, 2001, coming up through La Roca soccer club.

“I’ve grown up going to RSL games since I was a kid, as long as I can remember. This is the Club that made me want to become a professional footballer, so all those childhood memories are very special; I often think back to 2009, obviously a special time for RSL.

“Even when I was away, I was always following RSL, wishing them the best, and since Zach came back to Utah, he’s spoken about the people, how friendly and welcoming everyone is, how the facilities are top-class. MLS is growing at an amazing rate, gaining respect all around the world.

“I can’t wait to play in front of all the fans, we really have a special connection to this community. This is my boyhood Club, I played for the Academy, there are countless friends and family I want to make proud – so I’m really looking forward to the opportunity.”
