Real Salt Lake Acquires $100,000 in TAM for the Right of First Refusal to Luis Gil

Luis Gil vs Vancouver 0808

SANDY, Utah (Thursday, April 6, 2017) – Real Salt Lake announced on Thursday that the club has acquired $100,000 in Targeted Allocation Money in 2018 from Orlando City SC in exchange for the Right of First Refusal to MF Luis Gil.

Gil, 23, broke into MLS in 2010 with RSL at just 16 years old.  He had 11 goals and nine assists in 134 career appearances before departing for Mexico’s Queretaro following the 2015 season.  RSL retained his MLS rights when it made an offer for the six-year MLS veteran prior to his move to Mexico.

If Gil doesn’t remain with the Club in 2018, Orlando City SC receives $50,000 in TAM from Real Salt Lake in exchange for the Right of First Refusal to Gil.
