HERRIMAN, Utah (Tuesday, June 26, 2018) ā€“ Real Monarchs SLC (12-3-1, 37 points, 1 West) held off Western Conference foe Fresno FC 1-0 in front of 1,812 fans at Zions Bank Stadium on Tuesday night. With the win the Monarchs move to an undefeated 7-0-1 (22 points) in its new Herriman home during the 2018 season.

The match started with the Monarchs immediately applying pressure and found the go-ahead goal from an unlikely source in DF Andrew Brody. The goal was Brodyā€™s first of the year proved to be enough to hold firm for the rest of the match.

Making his Monarchs debut in the second half was MF Jack Blake who arrived on loan from the Tampa Bay Rowdies a week prior and nearly scored three minutes after entering the match. The second half momentum swung in the favor of the Monarchs favorably after an onslaught of Foxes attacks that GK Connor Sparrow thwarted, when Fresno midfielder Jemal Johnson was shown a red card in the 70th minute. From then the Utah side would hold firm defensively while nearly doubling its advantage on multiple occasions with the match ultimately ending with a 1-0 scoreline.
