HERRIMAN, Utah (Thursday, July 16, 2020) – Real Monarchs have signed former RSL Academy standout Bode Davis for the 2020 season, the club announced today. Davis’ signing is pending league and federation approval.

“Bode is another player taking the step from the academy to the professional ranks,” Real Salt Lake Technical Director Dan Egner said. “He has shown throughout his academy career and this preseason that he is ready for the next step. The staff has been impressed with his progress and we look forward to him being a major contributor with the Monarchs in 2020.”

Davis, 18, graduated from the RSL Academy in spring of 2020 and has already featured for the Monarchs in the club’s match against San Diego in the USL Championship’s return to play on July 11 where he played 62 minutes. Through his time with the RSL Academy, the Kaysville, Utah native featured in 62 matches since 2016, 60 of which were starts. Primarily featuring on the wing or as a striker, Davis scored 18 goals in his time with the RSL Academy.

“To sign my first professional deal has always been a childhood dream of mine,” Davis said. “Being from Utah, it’s amazing I get to stay at home and play professionally. I loved my time with the RSL Academy and now have the opportunity with the Monarchs for a shot with RSL that I’m incredibly excited for.”
