Real Monarchs SLC (12-4-2, 38 points); Seattle Sounders FC 2 (3-11-2, 11 points)
Player to Watch – Forward David Estrada has been keeping the attack alive for S2 as the team’s leading goal scorer, earning eight goals out of 13 shots on target. The veteran striker has a knack for putting himself in the right place at the right time, making him deadly at close ranges. Estrada has scored his eight goals this season within the penalty area. The 30-year-old scored the lone S2 goal against Real Monarchs back in April and will be looking to add more against the Utah team this weekend.
History – The all-time series sits at 4-2-1 between these two sides in favor of Real Monarchs. This will be the second time the Monarchs and S2 have met this season, the first being in the beginning of April which saw Real Monarchs extend its series lead with a dominating 3-1 victory.
Last Five – S2 have seen struggles this season, having only won three total games and while sitting the bottom of the Western Conference table with 11 points. The most recent run sees the record at 1-4-0 in the last five games. S2 last earned a full three points on June 10 when the Tacoma based team played host to OKC Energy FC and prevailed with a late goal through David Estrada. Going into Saturday, Sounders FC 2 will be looking to walk away with the much needed three points against Real Monarchs SLC at Zions Bank Stadium.
