Real Monarchs Fast Facts: 8/11/18 -

Player to Watch – Midfielder Alex Dixon has proven to be a versatile presence for the Energy FC attack. Dixon currently tied for the most goals scored for Energy FC this season with six, providing an ever-present threat in the attack for opposing defenses. The former Houston Dynamo homegrown has created chances for OKC at least once in each of the last four games as well as having created space along the wings to take opportunities himself. As a target man along the outside for OKC Energy FC, Dixon will be a player to keep an eye on this Saturday.

History – While this is the first time this season the Monarchs and OKC Energy will meet, it will be the sixth time since 2015 the two teams have clashed. OKC Energy FC hold the all-time series lead over the Utah club with a record of 3-2-0. The last meeting took place just over a year ago where OKC took the series lead at Taft Stadium after a 2-0 victory.

Last Five – With a record of 1-2-2, OKC Energy FC have not been in the best form within recent weeks. The one win came from a midweek match up against Tulsa Roughnecks FC, which saw OKC come away with a 3-0 victory over its in-state rival. Despite being out possessed in four of its last five games, the Energy have shown it can make use of the little possession by matching or surpassing its opponent in shots taken. As the final stretch of the season looms, OKC will look to pick up the critical three home points in a quick turn-around match with Western Conference leader Real Monarchs SLC on Saturday while the Monarchs look to grow its lead atop the West standings.
