Real Monarchs Defender Jaziel Orozco Selected to Train with Mexico National Team

HERRIMAN, Utah (Saturday, June 26, 2021) – Real Monarchs defender Jaziel Orozco has been invited to train with the Mexico National Team as part of their lead-up to this summer’s Concacaf Gold Cup.

“The Club congratulates Jaziel on what will be a fantastic experience with the Mexican National Team,” RSL Assistant General Manager Tony Beltran said. ”The opportunity earned is a credit to the conviction in which Jaziel approaches his craft. We wish him well and look forward to welcoming him back to the Monarchs at the camp’s conclusion.”

The defender will spend the next month training with Mexico as they prepare and compete in the Concacaf Gold Cup. As a result, Orozco will miss at least the next five Real Monarchs games.

Orozco, 16, has played in seven out of eight games for the Real Monarchs this season, totaling 630 minutes. At 16 years old, the El Paso, Texas native is one of the youngest to ever appear in the USL Championship. While a part of the RSL Academy, Orozco appeared in 14 matches at the U-16/17 level.

The Real Monarchs return to Zions Bank Stadium to take on San Antonio FC on Saturday, June 26 at 8:00 p.m. MT. Tickets can be purchased by calling 844.REAL.TIX or buying tickets online at RealMonarchs.com.
