Rachel Corsie Called to Scotland For Two International Friendlies

Sandy, Utah (Friday, March 22, 2019) – Utah Royals FCDF Rachel Corsie has been called to the Scotland Women’s National Team for two friendly matches against Chile and Brazil ahead of the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup. Scotland will face Chile on April 5 and then Brazil on April 8, with both matches held in Spain. 


Scotland will appear in the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup held in France, facing England, Argentina, and Japan in Group D. 


The Scottish finished its first tournament of 2019 at the Algarve Cup, with a 1-0 win against Denmark, and astonishing 4-1 win against Iceland to finish fifth in the tournament. Corsie started two of her three match appearances and currently owns 106 caps with the Scottish team.

Corsie started 23 of her 24 appearances and earned one assist for Utah Royals FC in 2018. During the NWSL off-season, Corsie played overseas in the Australian W-League with Canberra United. She captained Canberra United and was presented the club’s Player of the Year award at the end of the season.  


URFC is in its second leg of preseason, as the team enters year two in the National Women's Soccer League. Corsie is expected to rejoin URFC prior to the home opener against the Washington Spirit on April 20 at Rio Tinto Stadium.
