Power Rankings: RSL Still Unbeaten at Home

Kyle Beckerman vs SJ 0722

Each week we take a look at how the experts view Real Salt Lake in relation to the rest of the league with their weekly power rankings.  After a 1-1 home draw against the San Jose Earthquakes on Friday night – RSL’s fourth straight home draw after starting the season 5-0-1 at home – Salt Lake moved up the charts in one outlet, but down in two others.  Here is how the experts place the 8-6-7 Claret-and-Cobalt this week.

“Can't buy a win, and the opportunity to climb up the ladder thanks to this homestand has now officially passed them by. For RSL, it's now about rediscovering their finishing touch and hoping that wingers Joao Plata and Burrito Martinez can create something close to the magic they produced on the regular in March, April and May.”

ESPNFC.com – 10
“RSL can't afford to lose any of their attacking players, which makes the injury status of Yura Movsisyan of crucial importance. If he misses much time, his team will be in big trouble.”

SI.com – 10
“Coming back to get a positive result is nice, but Friday’s 1-1 home draw against San Jose will still probably count as a disappointment.  Salt Lake had numerous chances to get all three points but couldn’t capitalize, leaving the club still in search of its first win in a month.”
