Each week pundits around the web rank the 20 teams in Major League Soccer in their own power rankings.

Here at RealSaltLake.com, we like to see where each of those experts place Real Salt Lake and after Saturday’s a week that saw RSL topple the LA Galaxy 1-0 in the U.S. Open Cup quarterfinals (though most say the rankings only account for MLS play) and a convincing 2-0 win over the Houston Dynamo, the Claret-and-Cobalt made big jumps in some rankings.

“A jump in the rankings based upon Joao Plata finally looking healthy, Justen Glad looking 100% ready to be an MLS starter, and the realization that Javier Morales is probably immortal and will still be doing this in 2075.”

ESPNFC.com – 15

SI.com – 16

“MLS is the kind of league where RSL can snap a four-game winless run and suddenly jump to one place outside the playoffs, as it did on Saturday after beating Houston behind some masterful play by Javier Morales.”
