A new season is upon us and with that new year comes a fresh start with Power Rankings from around the MLS world. It’s still early, but MLSsoccer.com put out its preseason power rankings on Wednesday and RSL is just outside of the preseason playoff projections … Here is how the folks at the league site picked the Claret and Cobalt.

This preview was published before the second leg of the CONCACAF Champions League Quarterfinals, when RSL limited the mighty Tigres to just four shots and if not for a stoppage-time goal from Andre-Pierre Gignac while RSL was pressing for a series equalizer, nearly nabbed the shutout against one of the best teams in the Western Hemisphere.
