For the third straight road match, Real Salt Lake earned a shutout on the road with its scoreless draw against Sporting Kansas City on Saturday.  After that defensive performance, Jamison Olave was named to the MLSsoccer.com Team of the Week for the first time this season.

Olave led a defense that allowed just one shot on goal through the whole match against a Sporting Kansas City team that had built momentum from two stoppage time goals the previous week in a comeback win over the Philadelphia Union.

Olave finished the match with team-highs with 12 clearances, seven interceptions and two blocks as RSL improved to 2-0-3 to start the season.

“He is a rock.  We are glad to have him here,” RSL captain Kyle Beckerman said.  “He just continues to get better and I really like him behind me.

Olave was joined on Team of the Week by goalkeeper Jaime Penedo (LA Galaxy); defenders Brek Shea (Orlando City SC), Clarence Goodson (San Jose Earthquakes) and Marvell Wynne (San Jose Earthquakes); midfielders Rob Lovejoy (Houston Dynamo), Lloyd Sam (New York Red Bulls), Perry Kitchen (D.C. United) and Dillon Powers (Colorado Rapids); and forwards Giles Barnes (Houston Dynamo) and Dominique Badji (Colorado Rapids).
