The offseason rests for no one, as Real Salt Lake will take the podium once again during the MLS SuperDraft 2024, presented by adidas, on Tuesday, December 19, at 1 pm MT.

In recent years, RSL has found a surprising amount of success in the SuperDraft, with 2023 draft pick Emeka Eneli and 2022 draft pick Jasper Löffelsend establishing themselves as reliable starters for the Club, with Ilijah Paul, Bertin Jacquesson also contributing.

The Claret-and-Cobalt own the 18th overall pick in this year's SuperDraft, along with two picks in the second round, and in additional two picks in the third.

Kurt Schmid, Real Salt Lake’s Sporting Director, has been involved in RSL’s past two SuperDrafts and is looking forward to the next on Tuesday.

“We're always trying to get value out of the draft,” Schmid said.

“We put time and energy into it, we fly around the country scouting, watching games and spend a lot of time talking to college coaches and talking to kids. In the draft, sometimes it's the obvious guys and sometimes it's not.”

“I think we've had a little bit of success the last couple of years in terms of getting guys that can contribute some minutes to the first team, so that's been good. Our approach is always optimistic and we're always looking to get something out of it again this year.”
