Real Salt Lake Homegrown defender **Justen Glad** has won the Major League Soccer Goal of the Matchday following his late game heroics against Minnesota United last weekend.

On the day Glad celebrated becoming the first ever RSL Homegrown to earn 200 appearances for the Club, the veteran defender added the cherry on top when he earned his boyhood Club the draw with a last second goal, right in front of the Riot. So last second in fact, that the 2022 Club MVP set the record for the latest game-tying goal in RSL history.

Glad’s heroics against Minnesota earned him a starting spot in the MLS Team of the Week, while the man who assisted his game tying goal, Diego Luna, earned a second consecutive spot on the bench.

The goal was Glad’s third of the year after scoring against Austin FC in March and against Vancouver in February during the Club’s first match of the season.

While the defender has been contributing on the offensive end, he’s also tied for the fourth most interceptions in all of MLS with 35, already eclipsing the 34 he had all of last season.

He also became the second RSL player to win Goal of the Matchday this season after Pablo Ruiz won with his goal against D.C. United.

RSL fans can catch Glad and the rest of the team next weekend against Orlando City right here at America First Field. Remember to stay after the match for the fireworks show! Tickets available here.
