Gavin Beavers Named to U.S. U-19 Youth National Team

HERRIMAN, Utah (Thursday, April 21, 2022) – Real Salt Lake Homegrown goalkeeper Gavin Beavers has been selected by newly-appointed head coach, Marko Mitrovic, to join the U.S. U-19 Youth National Team for week-long training camp in Carson, California from April 22 through May 1.

Beavers, 16, signed with Real Salt Lake as a Homegrown Player prior to the start of the 2022 season. He has spent much of this year as the starting goalkeeper for Real Monarchs at the MLS NEXT Pro level, during which he has made six saves. He made his professional debut on June 26, 2021 Beavers with the Monarchs, and at the time made history as the youngest goalkeeper in USL Championship history.

This is the first international call up of any kind for Beavers who joined the RSL Academy ahead of the 2020 academy season.

Real Salt Lake is set to travel to Portland, Oregon on Saturday, April 23 to face Portland Timbers at Providence Park with kickoff set for 8:00 p.m. MT. The team will then return to Rio Tinto Stadium to host LA Galaxy on Saturday, April 30 at 1:30 p.m. MT. Real Monarchs are also set to travel to Portland to face Timbers 2 on Sunday, April 24 at 7:00 p.m. MT and will return to Utah on April 29 to host St. Louis City 2 at Zions Bank Stadium.
