Man of the Match: Forward Anderson Julio came into the match as a substitute in the 57th minute of the second half and changed the entire complexion of the game from the moment he stepped onto the pitch. In addition to scoring the match-tying goal with a header in the 72nd minute, Julio’s pace saw Real Salt Lake begin to dictate possession and stretch out the Kansas City defense en route to a come-from-behind 2-1 victory.

Telling Stat: Including the regular season, RSL has now won four-straight matches on the road, dating back to October 27 when the team got a 2-1 victory at FC Dallas. Since then the team has earned two victories at Sporting Kansas City and a win at Seattle Sounders FC in Round 1 of the Audi 2021 MLS Cup Playoffs.

What You Missed: Real Salt Lake clinched a spot in the Western Conference Final with a dramatic 2-1 come-from-behind win via goals from second-half super substitutes Anderson Julio and Bobby Wood, assisted by Andrew Brody and Justin Meram, respectively. This marks the fourth time RSL has advanced to the Western Conference Final.
