Man of the Match: Damir Kreilach led the way with his second brace of the year and against Vancouver this season, extending his team-leading goal tally to seven. The Croatian midfielder opened the scoring in the first minute with the third-fastest goal in Club history and then headed in his team-leading seventh of the year early in the second half to double the lead. With his brace he is now tied for the fifth-most goals across all competitions in Real Salt Lake history. 

Telling Stat: Real Salt Lake recorded their first four-goal match of the 2021 Major League Soccer season with goals from Anderson Julio, Albert Rusnak and a brace from Damir Kreilach. Additionally, goalkeeper David Ochoa earned his second MLS shutout with two saves. 

What You Missed: Albert Rusnak netted his second goal of the season on his 27th birthday, slotting in a penalty kick earned by fellow winger Justin Meram. Then in the final moments Anderson Julio volleyed in his third goal of the season to help the team finish the match with the 4-0 win and all three points. 

So What:Despite playing at home in Rio Tinto Stadium, Real Salt Lake took the pitch as the away team, playing against temporary tenants Vancouver Whitecaps FC. The team now has a 2-1-1 record on the road, with a plus four goal differential. Real Salt Lake now has a short break before return to play on Saturday, July 17 at Los Angeles FC.
