Real Salt Lake (7-8-6, 27

points); Vancouver Whitecaps FC (6-7-8, 26 points)

Man of the Match: Midfielder Anderson Julio proved to be a spark off the bench,

scoring his fifth goal of the season and his third as a second-half substitute.

Telling Stat: For the first time this season Real Salt Lake allowed their

opponent to score four goals. Prior to Sunday’s game the only time the team had

allowed more than two goals was against Portland Timbers at Providence Park,

where it fell 3-2. Tonight’s match was the first game where Real Salt Lake has

lost by more than one goal.

Interim Head Coach Pablo Mastroeni following the departure of Freddy Juarez

just two days before the game. Additionally, 17-year-old goalkeeper Jeff

Dewsnup made his first Major League Soccer gameday roster.

What’s Next: The Club returns home to face FC Dallas at Rio Tinto Stadium on

Saturday, September 4, at 6:00 p.m. MT. The two teams previously played to a

2-2 draw at the home of FC Dallas, thanks to a late-game equalizer from Damir

Krealich. Real Salt Lake is currently undefeated in their last five matches at

home, including four victories during that span.
