Man of the Match: Everton Luiz anchored Real Salt Lake’s midfielder, leading the team with four tackles, three interceptions and one block. He also led the team with his passing accuracy, completing 29 of his 32 passes good for a 90.6 percent passing accuracy rate. 

Telling Stat: When he scored in the ninth minute midfielder Albert Rusnak was in the midst of recording his 10,000th regular-season minute in a Real Salt Lake jersey. The current captain has the second-most minutes for the club among active players, behind Homegrown defender Justen Glad who has appeared in 12,018 minutes, including every minute of this season. 

What You Missed: After scoring his first goal of the season, Maikel Chang ran to the stands and draped a Cuban flag over his shoulders. It was a moment of support for Cubans fighting for freedom in his native country, where protests have been ongoing in recent weeks.

What’s Next: Real Salt Lake will finish off its stretch of three games in eight days, hosting the Rocky Mountain Cup rival Colorado Rapids on Saturday, July 24 at 8:00 p.m. MT.
