Four Road Trips for RSL Fans to Plan in 2017

The 2017 MLS schedule is out and Real Salt Lake has some intriguing matchups throughout the slate.  We’ve shown some of the top home dates to circle here, now here’s a look at the top road trips RSL fans should consider taking in the new season.

April 1 at Minnesota United SC

Minnesota and Atlanta both join the league in 2017 and RSL’s first meeting with the North Star State club comes in April.  While the Loons have not been as aggressive in compiling a roster as their Atlanta counterparts, they have Adrian Heath captaining the ship.  His experiences launching Orlando City will undoubtedly help in doing the same with Minnesota.

May 20 at Seattle Sounders FC

This will be the first meeting between RSL and the defending MLS Cup champions and it comes at raucous CenturyLink Field.  Even after winning cup, the Sounders have made some not-so-subtle changes to the roster.  Whose changes will prove more fruitful early in the season?

July 4 at LA Galaxy

It’s always great to celebrate Independence Day with soccer and this match comes right before the league takes a hiatus for the CONCACAF Gold Cup.  It’s the second of three meetings between the two clubs and the first at the StubHub Center since RSL fell in the 2017 MLS Cup Playoffs in the Knockout Round.  Perhaps a little revenge on their minds as they take on the new-look Galaxy.

October 15 at Colorado Rapids

The third and final meeting for the Rocky Mountain Cup comes in the final road match of the season.  RSL reclaimed the derby in 2016 and will likely need points from this match to lay a claim to good playoff positioning and keep the trophy in Utah.
