Real Monarchs SLC (3-4-3, 12 points); Phoenix Rising FC (4-2-5, 17 points)

Player to Watch – Midfielder Soloman Asante has played a pivotal role in the Phoenix Rising midfield, helping lift the Arizona side to its strong run of performances it has seen throughout the 2019 season. With two goals and two assists in his last three games, the 28-year-old Ghanaian international is making his presence on the field known. Having made the 2018 All-League First Team and showing that he is in a strong form of play, watch for Asante to try and continue to make an impact during Saturday’s match-up at Zions Bank Stadium.

History – Saturday’s contest will be the 13th game between Real Monarchs and Phoenix Rising FC. After the last bout in late July of 2018, the Monarchs took the all-time series lead, pushing the record to 6-5-1. The series between the Monarchs and Phoenix has been a tight one, as only one goal separates the two as the Monarchs have scored 16 out of the 31 total goals both teams have scored.

Last Five – After two dominating wins against Rio Grande Valley FC and Las Vegas Lights FC, Phoenix Rising FC sees itself on a win streak, looking to capture its third in a row when it visits Zions Bank Stadium. Having picked up 12 out of a possible 15 points in its last five games, Phoenix has been one of the more dominating teams in the Western Conference in 2019. Though Phoenix Rising boasts a positive overall record, in its last five road games the Arizona side has only picked up one win in early April, holding a road record of 1-2-2.
