SANDY, Utah - Real Salt Lake goalkeeper Jeff Attinella took home MLS Save of the Week honors on Friday, joining RSL midfielder and Goal of the Week winner Javier Morales to give the Claret-and-Cobalt a clean sweep of the league's weekly awards.
Attinella - who came off the bench in the second half to make his MLS debut for an injured Josh Saunders - was honored for his fine reaction stop on Dallas's Ramon Nunez in the 88th minute of Saturday's 3-0 win. He is the third RSL player to win the award this season, joining fellow 'keeper Nick Rimando and defender Nat Borchers in the Claret-and-Cobalt's seven Save of the Week wins this year.
Attinella will be in action on Saturday, when first-place RSL will take on second-place Sporting Kansas City at 8:00 p.m. at Rio Tinto Stadium.
