Chicago Fire 1 vs. Real Salt Lake 2
May 9, 2015; Toyota Park
Records: Real Salt Lake (3-2-5, 14 points).  Chicago Fire (3-5-0, 9 points)

Man of the Match: Jordan Allen had two assists on the day and continued his rise in his second MLS season.  He was aggressive on both sides of the ball in his 65 minutes in the midfield.  In his 418 minutes this season, RSL has outscored the opposition 6-1.  He will now depart for the FIFA U-20 World Cup, which opens on May 30 and runs through June 20.

Telling Stat: 100.  Saturday marked the 100th career regular season win for Nick Rimando in his nine seasons with Real Salt Lake.  “The Wall of the Wasatch” finished with two saves and the lone goal came on an 88th minute penalty.  He is now 2-1-5 with a 0.75 goals against average this season.

What You Missed:  It was a quick in and out trip for RSL in the Windy City.  After the team’s flight took a stop in Green Bay to refuel the team arrived late on Friday night in Chicago.  With the afternoon kickoff in Bridgeview, RSL was also able to get on a return flight on Saturday evening and was back in Salt Lake in time to watch the highlights of the match on the news.

So What: The win was RSL’s first since a 1-0 win over the San Jose Earthquakes on April 5, but the Claret-and-Cobalt is unbeaten in its last three matches and is now 2-1-2 on the road.  With still three of the next four matches on the road that success away from Rio Tinto Stadium will get put to the test before the end of the month.
