Injury Report

Sebastian Jaime will miss at least one match due to injury

Real Salt Lake forward Sebastian Jaime suffered a bone bruise in his right leg on Sunday in RSL’s 2-1 home win over Toronto FC, leaving the Argentine unavailable for this week’s match against the San Jose Earthquakes at Avaya Stadium in San Jose.

“It happened on one of the tackles later in the game,” Real Salt Lake Head Coach Jeff Cassar told media on Wednesday.  “It’s a little bit of a fracture but it’s in not a half-bad area – it’s a non-weight-bearing one, so he’s going to be in some pain for probably 10 days.  Then after that it’s about managing the pain and getting him back into it.  That’s what the doctors say and the trainers, but we’ll have to see.  It’s a tricky one.”

This season, he has started all three matches for Real Salt Lake, logging a total of 203 minutes.

Jaime came to RSL as a mid-season transfer from Union Espanola in Chile last year.  He has nine regular season appearances for RSL, but has yet to register his first goal.  In his 464 minutes since joining the team, RSL has outscored its opponents 11-5 with Jaime on the field.

He is expected to be evaluated next week to determine his availability for Real Salt Lake’s match against Sporting Kansas City on April 11.
