International Rundown: Four RSL'ers in action Tuesday

Fifa International Players

RSL captain Kyle Beckerman, goalkeeper Nick Rimando, leading scorer Álvaro Saborío and midfielder Will Johnson will all be in action for their respective national teams yet again on Tuesday, playing for their countries in the final match of CONCACAF’s semifinal round of World Cup Qualifying.

Here’s a quick rundown of each of their matches:

Kyle Beckerman and Nick Rimando – U.S. v. Guatemala – 5:00 p.m. MT – ESPN2

Both Beckerman and Rimando figure to play a role in the U.S.’s big match against Guatemala in Kansas City. Beckerman could very well get a start at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park while Rimando is a shoo-in for the game day roster.

A win or a tie on Tuesday night would put the U.S. through to the Hexagonal round.

Álvaro Saborío – Costa Rica v. Guyana – 7:00 p.m. MT

Saborio – who played a very solid match in Costa Rica’s 1-0 win at El Salvador on Friday - will occupy his usual spot at the top of Los Ticos’ forward line for their home match against Guyana on Tuesday. He was fantastic in Costa Rica’s June World Cup Qualifier at Guyana, leading his country to a 4-0 victory with a hat trick.

A win would put Costa Rica through to the final round of qualifying.

Will Johnson – Canada at Honduras – 2:00 p.m. MT – beIN Sport Spanish/Sportsnet Canada

Johnson will almost assuredly start for Canada in its do-or-die game at Honduras on Tuesday afternoon. Think good thoughts for Will and his Canadian teammates – they need a draw or a win in a hostile Honduran environment to advance to their first Hexagonal since the 1998 cycle.

Be sure to watch all of RSL’s internationals in action on Tuesday. We’ll have a full account of how they did later this evening.
