SANDY, Utah (Monday, August 28, 2023) – America First Field, home of Utah Royals FC and Real Salt Lake, is set to welcome the United States Women’s National Team as it faces Colombia on Thursday, October 26 at 7:00 p.m. MT, presented by the Utah Sports Comission Tickets will be made available via www.USSoccer.com, while the match will be viewable via TBS, Universo and Peacock.
America First Field has played home to the USWNT six times in its history, dating back to 2010, where the U.S. has posted a perfect 6-0-0 record. Last summer, the USWNT faced Colombia in Sandy, Utah, earning a 2-0 win on June 28, 2022, courtesy a Las Cafeteras own goal and a second from former Utah Royals defender Kelley O’Hara in the 77th minute.
In the other five matches in suburban Salt Lake, the USWNT has faced Canada, China, Switzerland and continental rival Mexico twice on the Wasatch Front. Throughout the six games, the USA has outscored its opponents 18-0, not allowing a single goal within the walls of the America First Field. Utah was scheduled to host a seventh match in April of 2020, but the game was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Colombia is coming off a stellar performance at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia / New Zealand, where it won Group H on the heels of a monumental result against Germany, beating the two-time Women’s World Cup champions, 2-1, on a late header goal from Manuala Vanegas. Colombia then beat Jamaica, 1-0, to win its first-ever knockout match at a Women’s World Cup, before falling to Women’s World Cup runners-up England, 2-1, in the quarterfinal.
Like the USA, Colombia has already qualified for the 2024 Summer Olympics in France and both teams will be using these games as early preparation for that tournament. Of the 12 teams participating in the Olympic Women’s Soccer Tournament, just four have qualified thus far: host France and USA, Brazil and Colombia.
Various presales for the match in Utah on October 26 will begin on Tuesday, September 12, with the general public sale beginning on Monday, September 18, depending on remaining ticket availability.
