Let ‘Em Talk About It

Last Saturday against the North Carolina Courage, FW Christen Press scored her second goal in as many games and her third this season.  The goal, assisted by MF Vero Boquete, earned Press a second-consecutive Goal of the Week honors. Despite only scoring three goals this season, she is averaging a goal every 120 minutes, which is one of the highest averages in the league led by Sam Kerr, Christine Sinclair, Kristen Hamilton and Crystal Dunn. Boquete’s third assist of the season is tied for sixth-most in the league, a title she shares with fellow Utah Royals FC teammate MF Gunny Johnsdottir

But the Party Don’t Stop

After two matches with 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup Champions, DF Kelley O’Hara,

FW Christen Press and DF Becky Sauerbrunn, Utah Royals FC will once again be without its trio of Americans as they will celebrate their victory in France. The United States Women’s National Team will kick off its Victory Tour just two hours after Royals FC in California against Republic of Ireland.

Tonight They’re Going Hard

In the last two games FW Katie Stengel and FW Amy Rodriguez combined for six shots on goal, all of which were saved by Portland and North Carolina’s goalkeeper Adrianna Franch and Steph Labbe, respectfully. This season Rodriguez has found the back of the next of five separate occasions, the sixth-most in the league. While she has yet to put one in this season, Stengel contributed six goals for Utah Royals FC during the 2018 season.

I Hope You're Somewhere Prayin'

Despite falling in the standings as of late, Utah Royals FC still possesses the top defense in the league, having only conceded 12 goals. What’s even more impressive is that under Head Coach Laura Harvey the backline has seen several changes this season and has had appearances by nine different players, interchanging each position on the back line. Once again, this week’s defense will look starkly different then last week’s starting lineup with the absence of DF Kelley O’Hara and DF Becky Sauerbrunn.
