Utah Royals FC Returns to Action Friday at Sky Blue FC

SANDY, Utah (Thursday, July 11, 2019) – Utah Royals FC heads east to New Jersey to face Sky Blue FC on Friday, July 12 at 5:30p MT for the second time this season in the first match since the United States Women’s National Team made headlines with their second-consecutive win at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
DF Kelley O’Hara (USA), FW Christen Press (USA) and DF Becky Sauerbrunn (USA) will be absent from the match as they continue celebrations for their victory at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup. This is expected to be the last match before their return to Utah. 

DF Rachel Corsie (Scotland), DF Katie Bowen (New Zealand) and MF Desiree Scott (Canada) have all rejoined Utah Royals FC ahead of Friday’s match after competing in the World Cup with their respective national teams. Additionally, MF Vero Boquete is expected to be available for selection for Head Coach Laura Harvey at the weekend.


In its last match, Utah Royals FC fell 2-0 to Reign FC at Rio Tinto Stadium, marking only the second time this season the squad had been held scoreless.
URFC enters Friday’s match undefeated against the team from New Jersey with a 3-0-1 (10 points) all-time record against Sky Blue FC. Most recently Royals FC where victorious at home, clinching the win at home by a 1-0 margin on June 15, 2019. FW Amy Rodriguez scored the lone goal for URFC from distance, a scene so spectacular she was awarded the National Women’s Soccer League Goal of the Week award.
