Real Monarchs SLC Names Jamison Olave Interim Head Coach

HERRIMAN, Utah (Monday, July 1, 2019) – Real Monarchs SLC announced on Monday that Head Coach Martin Vasquez has left his position.  During the process of hiring the next head coach, Real Monarchs Assistant Coach Jamison Olave will serve as Interim Head Coach.


“We want to thank Martin for his years of service to the club.  He was integral in building our Academy at Casa Grande, helping to design our ongoing development program and in assisting in the fundamental integration from the Academy, through the Monarchs and up to the first team.,” RSL Executive Vice President of Soccer Operations Rob Zarkos said.  “We wish Martin and his family nothing but success in their future endeavors.”


Joining the RSL Academy prior to the 2011 U.S. Soccer Development Academy season, the list of players that have found success in the professional and international ranks after working through the RSL Academy includes current Mexican National Team center back Carlos Salcedo and the slew of RSL players that have represented the U.S. at the FIFA U-20 World Cup, from Jordan Allen in 2015 to the five players donning the Stars-and-Stripes in 2017 – Danilo Acosta, Justen Glad, Aaron Herrera, Brooks Lennon and Sebastian Saucedo.  Three more RSL Academy products represented the U.S. in 2019, with RSL goalkeeper David Ochoa being joined by Sebastian Soto and Richie Ledezma.


The rest of the Monarchs technical staff will remain intact.


Real Monarchs will host New Mexico United on July 6 at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman, Utah.
