RSL continues its road run following an 0-2 loss Wednesday night at LAFC in its first-ever trip to Banc of California Stadium. That match – which saw the second-half debut for RSL GK Andrew Putna in place of an injured Nick Rimando– kicked off a run where five of the RSL’s next seven matches through the beginning of October will be played on the road, where RSL has earned just five points in 12 games thus far this season (1-9-2). Wednesday, Putna became the 10thplayer (joining Kreilach, Barry, Baird, Ortuño, Ruiz, Henley, Peay, Lopez-Espin, Herrera) to make his Claret-and-Cobalt debut in 2018, after playing the two seasons with USL front-runners Real Monarchs SLC.

Despite its road woes to this point, RSL remains above the playoff line amongst the top six in the Western Conference due to its play at Rio Tinto Stadium, where Head Coach Mike Petke’s team boasts an active 12-game unbeaten run at home and an overall 2018 mark of 9-1-3 in Sandy (outscoring opponents 25-11) this year, losing only the season opener on March 10 to LAFC, a 1-5 decision. RSL next welcomes the LA Galaxy to the Wasatch Front for Zlatan’s inaugural Utah visit on Sat., Sept. 1 (tickets available at www.RSL.com/tickets). Minnesota United FC arrives on Sat., Sept. 15.
