SANDY, Utah (Friday, June 1, 2018) – Real Salt Lake (6-6-1, 19 pts, 5th West) continues its three-game homestand Saturday night with a 7:30 p.m. MT kickoff against longtime Western Conference rival Seattle Sounders FC. This weekend’s matchup at Rio Tinto Stadium arrives amidst a run of three straight in Sandy, where RSL has now won five consecutive games at home this season after Wednesday night’s dramatic 2-1 victory over visiting Houston.

On Wednesday, RSL Captain Kyle Beckerman scored his 41stcareer MLS reg. season goal in the 82ndminute to lead the Claret-and-Cobalt to back-to-back wins for the first time this year. Making an appearance off the bench for the first time since August, 2012 – a span of 152 consecutive MLS starts – Beckerman’s eighth career game-winning goal was assisted by MF Damir Kreilachoff a Sebastian Saucedo corner kick. Saucedo also earned an assist on FW Luis Silva’s first-half header that gave RSL a 1-0 halftime lead.
Next Wednesday, June 6, RSL hosts Sporting Kansas City at 8:00 p.m. MT in the Fourth Round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. At the world-class Utah venue affectionately known as “The RioT,” RSL has enjoyed a prominent home-field advantage since building its permanent home in Sandy, boasting a dominant 111-27-44 mark in the world-class venue since opening in October, 2008.
