The most intriguing RSL road matches for fans in 2018

With the Real Salt Lake’s 2018 schedule officially unveiled and the biggest home matches already circled, here are some of the matches fans should consider traveling to in support of the Claret-and-Cobalt on the road.


Friday, March 30 at Toronto FC

RSL will visit the 2017 MLS Cup Champion Toronto FC in the second road match of the season. Toronto played to the best season in MLS history as it went 20-5-9 (69 points) which included only losing once at home en-route to a league-best home record of 13-1-3.


Wednesday, August 15 at LAFC

RSL visits Banc of California Stadium for the first time in mid-August against expansion side LAFC side playing in its inaugural season. RSL and LAFC will have already met once prior to the meeting in Los Angeles in RSL’s home opener in early March. LAFC is currently building its first-ever roster which currently boasts stars Carlos Vela, Laurent Ciman and Marcos Ureña.


September, 22 at Atlanta United

RSL will visit Mercedes Benz Stadium for the first time as it looks to extract revenge on the Black and Red after Atlanta topped RSL 3-1 in front of the Rio Tinto Stadium faithful last season. Atlanta set attendance records in its first matches at Mercedes Benz Stadium as it eclipsed 70,000 fans in a regular season match against Orlando City SC on September 16.


Saturday, October 21 at Portland Timbers

Last season there were two matches that arguably changed the course of RSL’s season and one of them came in the form of a 4-1 win over the Timbers at Providence Park in mid-July. Spurred by two goals from Joao Plata and a wonder-strike from Kyle Beckerman, RSL showed its force away from home in one of the most raucous environments in Major League Soccer.
