When it rains, it pours for Real Salt Lake and with nine goals in the last three matches, the folks at MLSsoccer.com have had plenty of goals to choose from in their AT&T Goal of the Week contests.  This week, Juan Manuel Martinez scored the go-ahead goal in a 3-2 win over New York City FC as RSL moved to 7-4-2 on the season and Martinez is among the eight p layers who fans can vote on this week.

In the 67th minute, Javier Morales sent a free kick into the NYCFC box and it was defended away, but fell to Martinez on the far side.  He took a touch to control the ball, then fired a screaming right-footed shot that zipped past Josh Saunders for a 2-1 lead.

“Things will happen when they are supposed to happen. We found a way to pick each other up and we were more aggressive in the second half,” Martinez said.  “I stayed back to see if the ball was going to fall to me and it did and I managed to get the score.”
